Ancestry from Voss 

Voss is where my great great grandfather, Klas Knutson Mosafinn was born and raised before immigrating to America in 1844. This is the reason why I have great interest in the Voss area and why I have a lot of Voss genealogy resources and do a lot of Voss genealogy research and data building.

The above picture is of Vangskyrkja (the church in Voss) and the village of Voss with the lake called Vangsvatnet. This was taken many years ago.  I am not sure exactly when it was taken but I believe it was before 1890.

If the numbers are different, they are not the same farm. Where the usage differs between the Gardssoga and the Ættebok, both forms are included separated by "=". Farms are arranged in numerical order. When Evanger and Vossestrand joined with Voss, their farms were assigned new numbers to create one sequence. A few have numbers in Vaksdal. The old numbers are shown in a separate column. Numbers were not readily available for a few entries at the beginning of the list. Farms names are listed as used in the local bygdebøker with references to the beginning page number.
